I attended the University of Michigan for my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and then went on to the University of Washington to earn my master's degree in the same discipline. My professional experience in research has revolved around renewable energy, IT for health care, and automotive engineering. As a tutor, I worked with elementary through high school students to help them better understand math and physics. I'm comfortable teaching math through advanced calculus topics like differential equations and multivariable calculus. When I help students understand math, I explain the concepts and relate them to applications where these concepts are used in the real world. I feel that students understand math well when they can solve real-world problems with it, and students have a lot more fun learning this way. When I have spare time, I like to play with my dog, go on road trips, work on my car, cook, and go for hikes.
