BA: Sociology (graduated with honors)
Experience- I have been a high school math teacher for 2 years.
- I have been tutoring math, writing, and music theory for 7 years.
- I am CPR and First Aid certified.
- I have tutored on the side for many years now and have made wonderful relationships with the families I work for, and still keep in touch with many of the families. I think this is what makes tutoring with me different- I focus on the relationship with my students as much as I focus on the learning. My students would say I'm "real"- I keep it honest but effective, I'm warm but I'm stern, I am humorous but know when to be serious, and I'm loving but also someone you don't want to let down. At the end of the day my students know I care deeply not only about their education, but about them as people. I teach/tutor because I love kids and I'll go to great lengths to ensure they're prepared for life.
HobbiesBasketball, swimming (was a lifeguard), reading, kickball, piano, clarinet, snowboarding, volunteering with animals, traveling to Central and South America over summers.
I'm an introverted extrovert. I've always been active, but have also always been able to maintain grades and balance life. While attending college full-time, I had three jobs, but was still able to complete my four years, maintain a 3.5 and graduate with honors.
